La Neuvelle-lès-Scey is a commune in the Haute-Saône in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
La Neuvelle-lès-Scey is located at an altitude of 302 m above sea level, four kilometers northwest of Scey-sur-Saône-et-Saint-Albin and about 19 kilometers west-northwest of the city of Vesoul (as the crow flies). The former street-line village extends in the central part of the department, in the gently undulating landscape on the plateau west of the Saône , on the northern edge of the Bois du Prince de Bauffremont.
The area of the 6.46 km² municipal area includes a section in the area of the plateau west of the Saône valley. The central part of the area is occupied by a wide basin that gradually descends to the southeast towards the Saône valley. It is an average of 280 m and is mainly used for agriculture. This hollow is flanked by wooded hills: in the east by the Bois de Scey , in the north by the Grand Bois (up to 340 m), in the west by Les Epoisses and in the south-west by the ridge of the Bois du Prince de Bauffremont . The highest point of La Neuvelle-lès-Scey is reached here at 345 m. The area consists of an alternating layer of calcareous and sandy-marly sediments from the Upper and Middle Jurassic Period . There are no surface rivers here because the rainwater seeps into the karstified subsoil.
Neighboring municipalities of La Neuvelle-lès-Scey are Arbecey in the north, Scey-sur-Saône-et-Saint-Albin in the east and south and Combeaufontaine in the west.

Together with Franche-Comté , La Neuvelle finally came to France with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678. Today La Neuvelle-lès-Scey is a member of the Communauté de communes des Combes, which comprises 22 villages .
