Beaumotte-lès-Pin is a commune in the French department of Haute-Saône in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
Beaumotte-lès-Pin is located at an altitude of 215 m above sea level, five kilometers northeast of Marnay and about 17 kilometers northwest of the city of Besançon (as the crow flies). The village extends in the south of the department, in the hollow of the village creek Doing north of the valley level of the Ognon , at the southern foot of the Monts de Gy .
The area of the 8.43 km² large municipal area includes a section of the lower Ognon Valley. The southern border always runs along the Ognon. This flows here with several windings through an alluvial plain that is one to two kilometers wide and averages 210 m. From the course of the river, the community area extends northward over the valley level to the adjacent plateau, which is made up of tertiary sediments . The plateau is mainly made up of arable and meadow land. The valley basin of Beaumotte, in which the Doing rises in the middle of the village, is sunk into the plateau . Further to the north, an approximately 60 to 80 m high land step ( Bois de Plaimont ) leads over to the plateau of Courcuire in the area of the Monts de Gy . At 351 m, the highest point of Beaumotte-lès-Pin is reached on the forest-covered Mont Marin .
Neighboring municipalities of Beaumotte-lès-Pin are Courcuire in the north, Pin in the east, Émagny and Chevigney-sur-l'Ognon in the south and Brussey and Avrigney-Virey in the west.
history
Various finds indicate that the municipality of Beaumotte-lès-Pin was already populated in Gallo-Roman times. Beaumotte was first mentioned in a document in 1180. In the Middle Ages, the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in it to the area of the Bailliage d'Amont . Together with Franche-Comté , it finally came to France with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678. Since 2002, Beaumotte-lès-Pin has been a member of the community association Communauté de communes de la Vallée de l'Ognon, which comprises 15 villages .
Attractions
The village church of Saint-Pierre-et-Paul was largely rebuilt in the 19th century. Only the forecourt comes from the previous church from the 13th century and was integrated into the building.

With 252 inhabitants (2005), Beaumotte-lès-Pin is one of the small communities in the Haute-Saône department. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (300 people were still counted in 1886), the population has continued to grow steadily since the mid-1970s.
Economy and Infrastructure
Until well into the 20th century, Beaumotte-lès-Pin was primarily a village characterized by agriculture (arable farming, fruit growing and cattle breeding) and forestry. Today there are some local small businesses. In the last few decades the village has transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who go to work in the larger towns in the area and in the Besançon agglomeration.
The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a department road that leads from Marnay to Étuz . The closest connection to the A36 motorway is around 15 km away. Further road connections exist with Pin and Courcuire.
