Feature films

On Monday and Tuesday evenings, Sat.1 shows films that are aimed primarily at women as a target group. For this reason, comedies or romance films are mostly broadcast. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and sometimes Fridays, Sat.1 also shows feature films under the name Der Sat.1 FILM, FILM , including feature films that have already been shown, but often also free TV premieres from the USA and Germany.

In the summer months, Sat.1 broadcasts 15 films from the Asterix and Obelix series every Saturday evening at 8.15 p.m. From April 2010, however, these will be broadcast every Saturday at 6.30 p.m., replacing repetitions of the crime series K11 - Commissioners in action .

From the beginning of the 1990s, the broadcaster referred to the blockbusters it bought on Thursday evenings as film . The appointment was later moved to Friday evening and Sunday evening. Even today, some major movies are called this and marked with an additional teaser. Under the label Die Kulmbacher Filmnacht (also: The long Kulmbacher Filmnacht ), feature films were shown free of advertising between 1997 and 1998. Other series for feature films were, for example, the World Cup of Emotions (2006).

In addition, Sat.1 produced new editions of German cinema hits from the 1950s between 1996 and 1997, which were broadcast as German Classics . The result was the four films Das Mädchen Rosemarie , Die Halbstarken , It happened in broad daylight and Charley's aunt .

The films are currently broadcast every Tuesday (The SAT.1 FILMFILM / The great SAT.1 Film) and Saturday (The SAT.1 Saturday Cinema) (as of 2015).
