Africa Cup 2015 / squad

This article provides an overview of the teams participating in the 2015 Africa Cup . The cadres of the teams are arranged according to the preliminary round groups and sorted alphabetically within the groups. Each national association had to nominate 23 players by January 7, 2015. The final squad list was published on January 9th by the African Football Association (CAF).

Group A

Equatorial Guinea

Equatorial Guinea changed coach shortly before the start of the tournament after the previous incumbent Andoni Goikoetxea was released at the end of 2014. The previous coach of the Equatorial Guinean women's national team, the Argentine Esteban Becker , was named as his successor . Becker announced his squad on January 8th, and the 23-man squad includes 17 Spanish-born players. Several players born in South America and Africa, whose eligibility to play for the national team of Equatorial Guinea was doubtful, were not considered.

Gabon

Coach Jorge Costa nominated the final squad on December 28th. Midfielder Mario Lemina declined his invitation, however, so that another player had to be nominated. For this reason Bonaventure Sokambi , who had just been transferred to the Algerian association ASO Chlef , was subsequently appointed to the final squad on January 3rd .

Republic of the Congo

Coach Claude Le Roy called 38 players into his provisional squad in early December 2014. On December 22nd, he eliminated 13 players from this pool of players (goalkeepers Joe Ombandza and Brice Samba , defenders Bernard Onanga Itoua , Grâce Miguel Mamic Itoua , and Maël Lépicier , midfielder Julssy Boukama Kaya , junior Makiéssé and Moïse Kounkou, as well as the forwards squad Bidimbou , Kévin Koubemba , Dzon Delarge , Saïra Issambet and Lorry Nkolo ) and nominated Christopher Maboulou , so that the line-up was reduced to 26 players. Zambia

Zambia's coach Honor Janza called 27 players into his provisional squad on December 23, 2014. Nyambe Mulenga broke his leg in a serious car accident on the way to the training camp and therefore fell out. Chris Katongo , Isaac Chansa , Rodger Kola , Collins Mbesuma and Jacob Mulenga , among others, were not considered . Algeria

National coach Christian Gourcuff announced the final squad on December 15th . With Foued Kadir , only one player was nominated who had never been called up by Gourcuff and who played his last international match in March 2014.
