Guinea-Bissau

Coach Baciro Candé first announced a provisional line-up of 35 players. Of these, Eliseu Cassamá and Yazalde Gomes Pinto (both Rio Ave) rejected their nomination. Previously had Vasco Fernandes , Gerso , Carlos Embalo and Janio Bikel told not to stand for the tournament are available. Amido Baldé had to cancel in advance due to an injury, as did the two nominees Cícero Semedo and Mama Baldé .

Of these, Edouard Mendy , Formose Mendy , Pelé , Guti Almada , Edelino Ié , Mesca and Bruno Preira did not make it onto a 26-player list that was announced at the end of December. With Tomás Dabó and Rui Dabó , two players who were not named before moved on to this . The leap into the final squad missed Jean-Paul Mendy , Abudu and Zé Turbo , but moved Nani Soares still in the squad, who had previously never been mentioned.

Democratic Republic of Congo

Coach Florent Ibengé nominated 31 players in his preliminary squad. Of these, Benik Afobe rejected his nomination, Jonathan Bijimine had to cancel due to injury. As a result, Wilson Kamavuaka , Christian Luyindama , Elia Meschak , Vital N'Simba and Ricky Tulengi were also deleted from the line-up, but there were still 24 players in Congo's line-up at the time of registration. Several media finally reported a 23-man squad that Junior Kabananga was missing. In the end, instead of Kabananga, Hervé Kage was missing from the official player list , the background for the change is said to have been an instruction from the Congolese association president.
