The federal highway 516 (abbreviation: B 516 ) is a German federal highway in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The Möhne valley road in 1842 as an art road ( road built), but collected only in the 1970s, the main road 516th The previous street on the section from Werl to Ense-Bremen was called Bundesstraße 479 . In this context, the route from Werl to Brilon was changed , whereby the now former Möhnetalstrasse no longer led through the many villages on the north bank of the Möhnesees by relocating it to the broader so-called Haarweg . On January 1, 2009, the approximately one kilometer long section between the B 1 in Werl and the new Werl-Süd AS on the A 44 was rededicated as Landesstraße 732.
