The national highway 473 (abbreviation: B 473 ) is a German national road in North Rhine-Westphalia in Westmünsterland and the Lower Rhine .
The B 473 was set up in the early 1960s to improve the network of federal roads; This main road is so highly frequented and also important because it represents a feeder function for traffic from Bocholt and the Bocholt area to the federal highway 3 and thus significantly improves the traffic infrastructure. With the opening of the new route of the federal road 67 (B 67), the section between the new and the old B 67 in Bocholt was rededicated to the state road and at the same time extended through the Westring tunnel.
