The national highway 475 (abbreviation: B 475 ) is a German national road in North Rhine-Westphalia . It connects the Münsterland and Tecklenburger Land with the Soester Börde .
History / other
The road between Rheine and Elte was built in 1894. The federal road 475 between Glandorf and Soest was established in 1965 to improve the network of federal roads. In 1968 the federal highway 475 was extended from Glandorf in a northerly direction to Rheine . From 2015 the federal highway will no longer end in Rheine, but in Emsdetten. The route between Lippetal- Lippborg and Beckum was also relocated to a common route with the A 2 . The federal road leads around the city of Soest on a new road.
In the course between Warendorf and Emsdetten there are numerous permanently installed speed monitoring devices, as the very wide B 475 with a hard shoulder, but still only two-lane, tempts you to drive fast.
B 475n
The B 475n is a planned extension of the B 475. It is to consist of two parts, one of which runs past Saerbeck to the north , while the other between Ennigerloh and Neubeckum is to bypass the route of the B 475 via two crossings. The latter route is controversial due to the route through a nature reserve .
