Gecko was a British car brand.

Brand history

1984 Nick Ingram founded the company Autobarn Fabrications in Tamworth in the county of Staffordshire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Gecko . In 1990 Simmons Design from Lichfield in Staffordshire continued production under the direction of David Simmons. Production ended in 1992. A total of about 88 copies were made.

vehicles

Only one model was on offer, but in several versions. It was a mixture of a recreational vehicle in the style of the Mini Moke and a beach wagon . The basis was the Mini with a modified rear subframe. An open body made of a mixture of plywood , aluminum and fiberglass was mounted on top . The wheelbase varied between 127 cm and 254 cm. A version with six wheels was also on offer.
