SPM was a British car brand.

Brand history

John Martin and Paul Ashworth founded in 1985, the company Specialist Performance Moldings in Whitminster in the county of Gloucestershire . They started making automobiles and kits . The brand name was from 1990 SPM .

According to a source, Fiero Factory of Redditch , Worcestershire , led by Steve Bidden, Roy Morris and Terry Sands continued production from 1992 to 1994.

The last manufacturer was from 1994 Lakeside Carriage Company from Redditch under the direction of Dave Fuell. Production ended in 2002. A total of about 50 copies were made.

Deviating from this, one source states that production ended in 1999.

The only model was the SPM 286 . It was inspired by the Ferrari 308 . The body consisted of eleven panels made of fiberglass . In addition to the Coupé and Targa , there was also a version that was somewhat reminiscent of the Ferrari 512 BB . The basis was the Pontiac Fiero . In addition to the original four-cylinder engines with 2400 cm³ displacement and V6 engines with 2800 cm³ displacement, a V8 engine was also possible.
