Steve Smith was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1981 Steve Smith founded the company of the same name in Robertsbridge in the county of East Sussex . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Kübelwagen . Production ended in 1982 or 1983. A total of about five copies were made.

Only one model was on offer. It was a replica of the VW Type 82 , which was called the Kübelwagen. The chassis of the VW Beetle formed the basis . A Kübelwagen body was mounted on it. What was unusual was that the body was made of steel . Kits ranged from £ 650 to £ 1,350 , depending on the size .
