Nimrod was a British car brand.

Brand history

Mike Jupp and Ray Jay developed an automobile from 1969 . When it was finished in 1972, Jay left the partnership. Jupp founded Nimrod Engineering in Hunston near Chichester in West Sussex and began manufacturing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Nimrod . Production ended for the time being in the same year. Vic Elam of Nova Cars in Bradford , West Yorkshire, took over the project in 1979 but produced nothing. TACCO (Talbott Alternative Car Company) from Wincanton in Somerset under the direction of Nigel Talbott continued production from 1981 to 1986. Fiberglass Applications from Westbury , Wiltshire , led by Pat Cuss, took over the project in 1986 and discontinued it in 1986 or 1988. A total of about 15 or about 20 copies were made.

Only one model was on offer. A spaceframe formed the basis. The front subframe as well as the engine and wheels came from the Mini . The fiberglass body did not have any doors and had a targa roof .
