The federal highway 444 (abbreviation: B 444 ) is a federal highway in Lower Saxony .
The B 444 began until 2008 in the Kreuzkrug district of Eltze (municipality of Uetze / Hanover region ) and branched off from the B 188 ( Burgdorf - Wolfsburg ) there. After only a few hundred meters, it crossed the B 214 ( Braunschweig - Celle ). In 2008 this section was dismantled and redeveloped. Since then, the federal road has only started on the B 214. It runs through the northern district of Peine and crosses Eltze, Wehnsen and Edemissen . You reach the Peine urban area in the district of Stederdorf .
At Peine the B 444 crosses the A 2 ( Berlin - Hanover ) at junction 52 "Peine". In the course of bypassing Peine, the B 444 has a common course with the B 65 ( Braunschweig –Hannover). The federal highway runs through the city on Celler Strasse, where trucks are not allowed to drive at night due to noise protection measures. There is a connection to the B 494 to Hildesheim . After crossing the Mittelland Canal , the Peine Clinic is located east of the B 444. In the Ilsede municipality, you will pass Klein Ilsede , Groß Ilsede , Gadenstedt and Groß Lafferde .
The B 444 runs together with the B 1 ( Braunschweig - Hildesheim ) between the villages of Groß Lafferde and Hoheneggelsen . It then turns south again (direction Goslar ) and runs after the villages of Bettrum and Nettlingen over the Vorholz .
The federal highway ends at the Grasdorf exit of the B 6 ( Goslar - Hildesheim ) not far from the Derneburg / Salzgitter exit of the A 7 ( Hanover - Kassel ).
