The national highway 241 (abbreviation: B 241 ) is a federal highway in Germany . It leads from Ostwestfalenstraße near Hohenwepel ( Warburg ) to the federal motorway 36 to Vienenburg ( Goslar ).

history

In the Harz , the B 241 roughly follows the Alte Harzstrasse , which mostly ran along mountain ridges. The part between Lauenförde and Hardegsen was only expanded in modern times between 1828 and 1832 as part of the Sollingchaussee, which continued to Nörten-Hardenberg .

The B 241 used to lead from Hohenwepel via Menne to Ossendorf . The section of the route was downgraded to the K 38 district road and traffic today leads via the B 252 to the B 7 .

expansion

In Goslar, the eastern part of the north bypass at Ohlhof was opened on June 22, 1969 and the old route, known as Vienenburger Strasse , was graded into a district road. The new line was then extended to the Bad Harzburger Dreieck to today's A 369 and B 4 in four lanes until 1987 .

The federal highway 241 was relocated between Bollensen and Ellierode since the end of 2009. By October 2011, the 4,225 m long VKE 2 construction section between Volpriehausen and the Ellierode junction was expanded into three lanes. The new road section straightened the previous winding forest road and serves as a bypass of the Goseplack settlement. The crossing farm roads are passed over or under and partially replaced in the rear network. Part of the old federal road in the section Bollertmühle (Volpriehausen) to the Goseplack settlement was dismantled as a farm road. It is planned that the old road section from the Schlarpe junction to the Goseplack settlement will remain. The high costs of the construction phase VKE 2 of 32.5 million euros from the economic stimulus package I & II are due to the large number of bridge underpasses, the route as a valley bridge in the Schlarpe area and spanning valley bridges, for example near the Goseplack settlement. The bridge structures alone, with a length of up to 400 meters, amounted to around 15 million euros.

The section was opened to traffic in October 2011. The groundbreaking ceremony for the laying of the B241 between Volpriehausen and Bollensen took place in July 2015. The construction phase is expected to cost 32.8 million euros.

In the Osterode area and partly between Osterode and Clausthal-Zellerfeld, the B 241 has been expanded to four lanes. Near Osterode the road runs through the 393 m long Butterberg tunnel .

It has so far been assumed that by 2020 the traffic load for this route will be 11,000 vehicles per day.

course

The B 241 begins near the A 44 and ends at the A 36 . In Uslar there is a connection to the B 497 .

Tourism / sights

  • In Amelith are the Medieval Center Nienover and Hutewaldpfad.
  • In Lauenfoerde the archaeological excavation site lies deserted Schmeessen .
  • Beverungen Castle right on the Weser Bridge (Beverungen / Lauenförde)
  • The section between Uslar and Hardegsen was popular with motorcyclists because it leads over the winding and wooded mountain route called “Bollert”, which, however, has many straight sections before and after. With the curve-free new construction of the Bollert section and the expansion to three lanes between Volpriehausen and Ellierode, which was released in October 2011, the attractiveness for motorcyclists has suffered.
