List of wars and battles in Switzerland
The list of Swiss battles chronologically shows from 58 BC the most important armed conflicts with wars, battles and skirmishes on Swiss territory or with significant federal participation.
These actions usually do not correspond to a coordinated and continuous national foreign policy and the share of the individual locations in the various wars was very different.
Also included in the list are the numerous unofficial campaigns (so-called "wild trains"), such as those undertaken by young people in the closer and wider neighborhood out of a thirst for adventure and greed for prey. Often these took place with the tacit tolerance of the authorities, but occasionally also against their will.
