The federal highway 300 (abbreviation: B 300 ) is a German federal highway in Bavaria , which extends from the district of Kelheim to Heimertingen (on the city limits of Memmingen ). It crosses Augsburg and Swabia .

The B 300 begins on the B 16 near Münchsmünster , leads through the districts of Pfaffenhofen adIlm , Neuburg-Schrobenhausen , Aichach-Friedberg , the city of Augsburg , the districts of Augsburg , Günzburg and Unterallgäu and ends on the A 7 near Heimertingen.

It is an important connection axis for the two regional centers Augsburg and Ingolstadt and also connects the A 9 Munich - Nuremberg - Berlin south of Ingolstadt (AS 64 Langenbruck) with the A 8 Munich- Stuttgart east of Augsburg (AS 74 Dasing ).

In the municipalities of Reichertshofen and Hohenwart, the B 300 runs for almost two kilometers together with the B 13 Munich-Ingolstadt.

In the urban area of Augsburg, the B 300 coincides with the B 17 , with sections of Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, Haunstetter Straße, Inverness Allee, Friedberger Straße, and on the latter for a short distance also with the B 2 . All sections in Augsburg, Stadtbergen , Neusäß and at the level of the A 8 are four-lane, the section in the Paar valley has three lanes over long distances.

history

The Aichach-Dasing section was part of the planned A 90 . This section is to be developed as a four-lane highway-like federal road between the Dasing and Aichach-West junctions over a length of 5 kilometers. There was no specific timetable for this until 2014, but a construction time of around four years is expected. As a preparatory measure, the Aichach-Süd junction was rebuilt in 2010.

By December 2011, in anticipation of the four-lane expansion of the B 300 between Aichach and Dasing, the Aichach-West junction was made free of intersections. This measure was urgently required due to the many fatal accidents in 2010. On July 28, 2014 it was announced that the Federal Ministry of Transport is providing the necessary funds for the four-lane expansion of the B 300 between Aichach and Dasing. The expansion began in autumn 2014. As early as the end of October 2017, four lanes of the B 300 between Aichach-West and the newly established Gallenbach exit could be used for a distance of three kilometers. Since September 21, 2018, the B 300 between Aichach-West and Dasing can finally be used in four lanes.

The B 300 originally also crossed Memmingen, but in 2016 it was downgraded to State Road 2031 in the Memmingen urban area.

Since December 2017, there has been a traffic light at the Langenbruck junction in order to reduce the focus of accidents when crossing from or to the A9. Since the confluence of the St 2046 at Schrobenhausen-Mühlried is also a hotspot for accidents on the B 300, a temporary traffic light was set up on the B 300 there in October 2018. In the long term, the junction is to be rebuilt so that it does not cross.
