Remarks

  1. ^ The source, Bernhard Püschel: Historical railway catastrophes. A chronicle of accidents from 1840 to 1926 . Freiburg 1977. ISBN 3-88255-838-5 , p. 120, formulates somewhat imprecisely: " About 100 people are said to have had an accident in this accident ".
  2. The locations could not be identified. According to Semmens, p. 62, they are supposed to be about 160 km from Rangoon.
  3. The exact location of the accident could not be identified from the source (Semmens, p. 94).
  4. Morgny is in the Eure department in Normandy .
  5. ^ According to Semmens, p. 117: "77 km from Lucknow ".
  6. The train station is about one kilometer from Bhatni Bazar , Uttar Pradesh .
  7. Sambhu is a train station 17 km from Ambala Cantonment Junction on the Ambala – Attari railway line .
  8. The statement in Semmens, p. 124 that Sambhu is a terminus station is incorrect. It is a through station .
  9. The scene of the accident, which is said to have been 19 km from Santiago de Chile , cannot be assigned. There is probably a typo in the source (Semmens, p. 154): “San Fernando” or “San Bernardo” would be plausible, but they cannot be assigned either.
  10. Naini lies with Prayagraj .
  11. The accident was kept secret by the authorities. The news about this is based on information gathered by Western correspondents in Moscow at the time (Semmens, p. 188).
  12. Due to the similarity of some of the information, it is reasonable to suspect that this accident is identical to the one listed here under Guaymas, February 20, 1983, or Tepic, May 4, 1989.
  13. Due to the similarity of some of the information, the suspicion that this accident is identical to the one listed here under Tepic, July 12, 1982, or Tepic, May 4, 1989.
  14. According to Semmens, p. 211, the train ran into freight wagons that had detached themselves from a freight train ahead, and he also reports a canal instead of a river.
  15. Due to the similarity of some of the information, the suspicion that this accident is identical to the one listed here under Tepic, July 12, 1982, or Guaymas, February 20, 1983.
  16. The various sources name August 4th, 9th and 10th.
