Cycling routes in Saxony

In the forests and water-rich landscapes of Saxony , numerous tourist cycle routes have been designed since 1990 and implemented on existing or new or expanded infrastructure. They are led on dedicated paths , sometimes also on low- traffic connecting roads. In many places, reused railway lines or agricultural and forestry routes are part of the route profiles.

Saxony's cycle routes

Saxony's cycle routes are divided into purely inner-city, regional and supra-regional as well as national and European cycle routes. On the latter, Saxony is crossed as a transit country , including some D-Netz routes . Supra-regional routes are characterized by the cooperation of several districts or cross-border working groups. Purely inner-city bike routes for everyday traffic are not listed here .

For the inclusion of a route in this list, it should either be described in the bicycle traffic concept of the Free State or have a continuous marking on site, e.g. B. is maintained by associations or the responsible community. In addition to the route, display boards along the route often provide a thematic reference to regional history. Their design and condition can also be used as acceptance criteria. For local cycle routes whose signage is still in the drafting or planning state, an actual implementation should be awaited. The discussion page is ideal as an interim .

Topographical features

Based on their topographical features, bike routes and a. Categorized according to river-accompanying and river- connecting cycle routes , ridge , heather and railway cycle routes . These collective terms provide rough information on the nature of the height profile. So in riverine routes already is (short flow cycling routes to expect less rise and fall as a rule) than in river linking, a watershed cross between rivers.

Breakdown

The standard sorting divides the list into four sections, starting with the long-distance cycle routes (1) . The second section lists cycle routes of supraregional importance that are continued in neighboring countries (2) . These also include some of the main regional cycle routes of the SachsenNetz Rad , which follow in the third section (3) . At the end of the list are regional and local cycle routes, which as of 2014/15 are not mentioned in the Saxon cycling concept (4) . A lexicographical sorting across sections is possible by clicking on the column headers.
