Overview of the music years
Further events
This article covers the music year 2017 .
The British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was particularly successful internationally , leading numerous annual charts with Shape of You and his album ÷ . From a German point of view, Helene Fischer should be mentioned, headed the German album annual charts and also took second place in Switzerland. Equally successful was Luis Fonsi feat. Daddy Yankee with her hit Despacito , which was the most successful number one hit in many countries.
The terrorist threat weighed on the music year. For example, in May there was a serious terrorist attack at a concert by the American singer Ariana Grande in Manchester and in October there was a mass murder in Las Vegas on the sidelines of a country festival . The German festival Rock am Ring had to be interrupted because of a terror warning.
