Borussia's jersey is traditionally white, often with green or black stripes or applications to match the club's colors. For the 2008/09 Bundesliga season, the design of the home jerseys was adapted to that of the successful sporting period in the 1970s: a white jersey with a black and green vertical stripe on the left side. The away shirt is dark green with black horizontal bars and white stripes in the neck area. The rarely used third shirt is sky blue, also with white stripes in the neck area. The pants are color-coded for each jersey, as are the socks, either plain-colored or striped to match the jersey. In the 2009/10 season, the goalkeepers wear either a dress in may green and sky blue, each with matching trousers and socks, or a red-black and orange-black top with black trousers and black socks.

The tradition was continued for the 2010/11 season and a home jersey was launched, the color of which is intended to be reminiscent of the championship jersey of the 1969/70 season. It is a white jersey with two fine black stripes on the collar and on the sleeves. The pants are matching white with a fine black waistband, as are the socks, which are only set off in black in the upper part. As in the previous season, the manufacturer of the jersey is the supplier Lotto .
