Immediately before the Styrian municipal structural reform that took effect on January 1, 2015, the Austrian state of Styria was divided into 539 politically independent municipalities and 1593 cadastral municipalities. The reform reduced the number of municipalities in Styria from a total of originally 542 by 255 to 287 municipalities (including Graz); a few new cadastral municipalities were created by splitting up previous municipalities.
The associated cadastral communities are indented.
Cadastral communities with the same name to communities with the name "Sankt" are always called "St." in Styria. The sorting is nevertheless according to pronunciation (Santa).
Note: The names of the 1596 cadastral communities are kept in the official cadastre by the Federal Office for Metrology and Surveying, so the name of the community, the associated cadastral community (and the locality) can be different.
Territorial status: January 1, 2020
Localities and other districts of the 286 municipalities (as of 2020) can be found on the municipality pages due to their size.
