The list of cities in Poland provides an overview of the development of the population of the larger cities of the state of Poland and contains a complete listing of all 944 cities in the country in alphabetical order (as of January 1, 2020).

Agglomerations by population

The largest agglomerations in Poland are (as of January 1, 2008):

  1. Katowice : 2,552,515 inhabitants
  2. Warsaw : 2,251,474 inhabitants
  3. Łódź : 982,508 inhabitants
  4. Gdansk : 866,613 inhabitants
  5. Krakow : 801,739 inhabitants
  6. Szczecin : 763,321 inhabitants (cross-border)

This means that over 20 percent of Poland's residents are concentrated in these six regions.

Cities by population

The table contains all cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, the results of the census from May 20, 2002 and May 20, 2011, as well as estimates by the Central Statistical Office in Poland for December 31, 1992 and December 31, 2016.

The voivodeship to which the city belongs is also listed. The population figures refer to the respective municipality within its political limits, without politically independent suburbs.
