Content and structure

What was the last thing you saw?

At the beginning of each episode, the group asked what was last seen. Then these films (or series) are discussed.

Theatrical releases

After an introduction with the help of a compilation of several films that start in the cinema each week, the films are discussed in detail and reviews are given.

News

The news is made up of a short film sequence including a speaker who briefly goes through some film news. Then Daniel Schröckert and his guests talk through the news.

Competition, submissions

On occasion, film packages or event tickets provided by film publishers or Rocketbeans will be raffled. To win one of these packages, viewers sometimes have to complete and submit tasks (designing pictures, making videos, writing poems and stories, or submitting a piece of music). In the next episode these will be evaluated by those present and the winners will be determined. Since around 2018, however, it is usually enough to simply click a link on the page.

Homework

Homework was given in early broadcasts; H. a guest gave up watching a film and this was then discussed in the next program. To this end, reddit reviews and opinions from the community about the film were read out.

Trailer

Here, the trailers and teasers for the latest or upcoming films are shown and then discussed. Since these are also films that have not yet appeared in Germany, the trailers are mostly played in English.

Cheap or do I want?

The guests judge new film posters.

Stream it

The moderators and guests recommend films (old and new) that will be shown on the popular streaming services in the coming month.

Screen shots, quick shots and last man standing.

Games that the moderators sometimes play with the community and guests (more likely in previous shows).

Special shipments

Special programs are produced at irregular intervals in which a certain topic of the film industry, a film genre, a film festival etc. are discussed. These special programs are not broadcast on Thursdays, but on Saturdays.

Production and broadcast

Since its launch of Rocket Beans TV (RBTV) the consequences will be first aired there. After the Thursday broadcast, the episodes were made available on the station's YouTube channel, but since March 31, 2019, the episodes have been published on the YouTube channel Kino Plus , which was specially designed for the broadcast . Bonus videos that are not broadcast on RBTV, longer interviews and more are uploaded on this channel.

After a long period of speculation whether Kino + should be revised after more than 2 years and more than 100 episodes, this was finally confirmed by Daniel on August 4th, 2016. Kino + took a summer break for the redesign , which ended on September 1st.

The redesign of the studio in particular has been new since the “second season”. Since Kino + did not have its own before, the show had to be shot in the studio of Bohn Jour , another Rocket Beans production. This was equipped with props from film and television before each Kino + episode and then restored to its original form after the broadcast. After Bohn Jour got his own studio with the second season, the old one will now be available for Kino + alone .

Awards

  • Odds Meter TV Award 2019 in the Best Web Channel category

Trivia

  • An episode that was produced for February 28, 2014 was canceled due to technical problems.
  • A list of the films mentioned will be offered on a fan page for the episodes up to the beginning of 2017.
  • Many fans also wanted a "Series +" from Daniel Schröckert. Therefore, together with Donnie O'Sullivan, he developed the series format Bada Binge , which started on January 31, 2017 on RBTV.

Episode list

Note:

  • Some early specials etc. are officially listed as normal episodes by RBTV (based on the YouTube playlist).
  • Interviews are often included in regular programs. Since 2019, some programs have been called Kino + On Tour or Unterwegs or On a drink with Kino + . As a rule, interviews are held there or sets are visited.
  • Before RBTV developed the Kino + film format, Daniel Schröckert, Etienne Gardé, Dennis Heinrichs and other film enthusiasts spoke about cinema, films and series in several Almost Daily programs. All shipments are listed in the table below.

Remarks

A.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany , the 300th anniversary episode was skipped and planned for later. After the 299th episode, the number was continued with 301. The episode with the number 300 was only broadcast as a live show on July 9, 2020 after episode 306.
