Honorary citizen
Since 1879, 25 honorary citizenships have been awarded by the city. Those that were awarded by the city during the National Socialism between 1933 and 1945 were repealed on March 27, 1946 by resolution of the local council at the time. They were Gustav Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach , his wife Bertha , Heinrich Unger , Hermann Göring and Adolf Hitler .
