Company history

GC Conley from Chicago , Illinois , manufactured a number of automobiles in 1914. The brand name was Conley . In total, only a few vehicles were built.

vehicles

The vehicles had a certain resemblance to cycle cars . This related in particular to the narrow track width of 96.5 cm and the two seats arranged one behind the other. The chassis had a wheelbase of 254 cm . Despite the narrow gauge, the rear axle had a differential .

The other details did not correspond to the cycle cars. The four-cylinder engine was water-cooled . It had a cubic capacity of 2016 cc and was thus well above the capacity limit for cycle cars, which was 1100 cc. The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a two-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft . An adjustable steering column was unusual.

The original price was 375 US dollars . By comparison, the Ford Model T cost at least $ 440 as a two-seater.
