List of rivers in Germany

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of rivers in Germany contains a selection of rivers in Germany , sorted by length and water abundance.

All of the flowing waters listed below - streams , rivers and streams - flow through Germany in whole or in part. It is possible to be in a state bordering spring, then flow through Germany and also open out there or in an adjacent country, for example in another river or stream into a lake or a sea . Conversely, it can also be that the rivers originate in Germany and flow somewhere there or in a neighboring country according to the aforementioned pattern.

Hints

For a better overview, numerous length specifications are rounded to full kilometers. Example: The 27.5 km long Neckar tributary Lauter is only noted as 27 km. Below is a list of rivers with unexplored or unknown length .

Man-made channels are not included in this list.

Rivers over 200 km in length

The following table shows rivers over 200 km long. Since the name of the river also stands for the river system as a whole and the main hydrological river is not infrequently formed by apparent tributaries , the largest (most water-rich; marked with "G") and the longest source branch (marked with "L") are also given. The quantitative information includes the length of the correspondingly named flow stretch, the longest flow stretch, the longest flow stretch within Germany, the mean discharge at the most water-rich inland point, the entire catchment area and the catchment area within Germany. This is followed by the headwaters and estuaries, touched federal states and important tributaries. Explanations for understanding can be found in the legend below the table:
